A characteristic feature of wool is pilling due to friction. Pilling decreases over time as the loose fibers that cause pilling come off the surface of the garment, but the lint can be easily removed with a lint comb before that. The lint can be removed by combing the garment with a lint comb in the direction of the knit. The knitted product may have threads sticking out if it gets caught on rough material, such as Velcro or other sharp objects. This is part of the characteristics of the knit and is not a manufacturing defect.
