Affenzahn barefoot shoes are an excellent choice for developing feet. The sole of the shoes is thin, because healthy feet do not need additional padding. The shoes do not have a heel raise, which allows the child?s foot to be in a natural position. In addition, the natural shape of the shoe provides space for each toe. A child?s foot needs the freedom to move naturally for normal development. When a shoe does not support the foot, it can block the path of movement, providing the small muscles of the foot with appropriate movement. Walking barefoot trains balance, keeps the leg muscles strong and can prevent foot misalignments in early play. Moving on varied terrain, such as asphalt, forest and sand, provides activation for the foot.
